ICDIEISustainable Infrastructure and Environmental Adaptation for Disaster Readiness
In recent decades, the increasing frequency of natural disasters caused by climate change, environmental degradation, urbanization, and development that is not yet fully sustainable has become a global challenge. These conditions call for the development of disaster-resilient infrastructure and sustainable environmental management through collaboration among academics, the government, industry, and the public.
As a country located within the Ring of Fire, Indonesia faces a high level of disaster vulnerability, including both geological and hydrometeorological disasters. Therefore, building resilient infrastructure and strengthening disaster mitigation capacity are crucial components in supporting national development while aligning with global agendas such as the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, the Paris Agreement, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Malikussaleh University, is organizing the International Conference on Disaster Infrastructure and Environmental Impact (ICDIEI) 2026 with the theme “Building Resilient Regions: Sustainable Infrastructure and Environmental Adaptation for Disaster Readiness.” This conference serves as an international forum for academics, researchers, practitioners, government officials, and industry representatives to share research findings, strengthen collaboration, and generate innovations in the fields of infrastructure, disaster management, and the environment.
The success of ICDIEI 2026 requires the support of various stakeholders. Therefore, the organizing committee is opening partnership opportunities through a sponsorship program as a form of collaboration to support the advancement of science, technological innovation, and the achievement of the SDGs particularly in the areas of sustainable infrastructure, climate change adaptation, and enhancing community resilience to disasters.
The 2026 International Conference on Disaster Infrastructure and Environmental Impacts (ICDIEI) is intended to serve as an international scientific forum that brings together academics, researchers, practitioners, government officials, industry representatives, and national and international organizations to share knowledge, experiences, research findings, and technological innovations in the fields of disasters, infrastructure, and the environment.
- To serve as a platform for disseminating the latest research findings and innovations in the fields of infrastructure, disaster management, and the environment.
- To strengthen collaboration among universities, the government, industry, research institutions, and international organizations.
- To promote the development of innovative technologies and solutions to enhance the resilience of infrastructure and environmental sustainability.
- To improve the quality of scientific publications by providing opportunities to publish in reputable national and international journals.
- To support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- To build international cooperation networks in the fields of research, education, and community service.
